The launch of a new Chamber Ensemble that places guitar at its centre.

The concert featured compositions that evoked the wild places around us by Meredith Connie, with soprano Christelise de Graaf, percussion by Dan Richardson and guitar quartet with Diego Valverde, Kyle Falzon and Sammy Breve.

We celebrated the launch of a new ensemble that places Australian works and works by female-identifying composers at the centre of their mission statement. This new ensemble, Connie Chamber Collective, also fills a gap in the wider musical landscape of Melbourne by placing the classical guitar in a central position in collaboration with other instruments. The launch event presented new works by Meredith Connie, creating a immersive sound experience through the combination of live instrumental performances, text, field recordings and loop station.
